Basuki Bingung Kajian Ikan Mati di Ancol Berbeda-beda

Dead Fishes, Basuki Awaits BPLHD DKI Research

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok Tjahja Purnama is still waiting for the research result of the Regional Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD) related to the cause of dead fish in Ancol Beach, North Jakarta.

BPLHD's research result is not yet finish

"It was a lot of studies, thus BPLHD's reseach result is not yet finish. From KKP, the fish death is due to reclamation, while the LIPI said it is about plankton growth. According to theory, plankton growth is due to prolonged dry season. That is what we debate now," said Ahok, City Hall, Wednesday (12/2).

He mentions such phenomenon only happens in Ancol Beach, but it does not happen in Jakarta Bay. "If you want scientific, just wait it okay. Call LIPI or professor, I don't understand. All the dead fish on the beach, instead of in the Bay. It was due to lack of oxygen," he exclaimed.

Regarding reclamation, he mentioned, there has been studies since 1995. Even 17 islands that will be built is a study of the Ministry of Environment. "These islands were not chosen by me. When I proposed a draft bylaw (reclamation), it already had legal basis, including the Ministry of Maritime and Fishery. All is clear," he asserted.

He also mentions most studies preferred to political. As a matter of fact, the reclamation has clear legal protection. "Do you believe with LIPI? They are Indonesian Institute of Science you know. If we have not got to believe at LIPI, to whom we have to believe in," he uttered.
