Jakarta Deputy Governor in Spatial Planning and Environment Section, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa asked residents to reduce ground water usage in order to minimize the occurrence of land subsidence.

He said, currently the largest land subsidence is occurred in North Jakarta which reaches to seven centimeters.

JSC will Develop Integration for Groundwater ManagementHe explained, Jakarta Provincial Government will expand clean water supply by using PAM Jaya piping system to reduce ground water usage in North Jakarta.
"We will encourage buildings in the area to utilize rain water. Because rain water can be also used as water source," he mentioned.
He added, Jakarta Provincial Government will multiply communal septic tank thus raw water source can be increased.
"We will maximize communal septic tank along riverbank. Thus, both solid and liquid domestic waste will be not directly discharged into river," he closed.
