14 Illegal Buildings in Tanjung Priok Controlled

14 illegal buildings located beside Tanjung Priok Station, North Jakarta, were controlled on Sunday (10/1). 140 joint personnel were deployed for this action. 

We hope PT. KAI could utilize this vacant land as soon as possible

One by one, illegal buildings which built on 1,500 square meters land owned by PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) were demolished by using small tools such as crowbar, big hammer, and machete.

Council Supports Illegal Building Control in Flat Area

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Junaedi who led this action said that all illegal buildings in the area were demolished since it disturbs public order.

"We hope PT. KAI could utilize this vacant land as soon as possible to prevent unauthorized sides to misuse it," he said.

Meanwhile, Tanjung Priok Sub-district Head, Syamsul Hida added, 140 joint personnel consisted of Satpol PP, urban village, sub-district, environment Sub-dept., Social Sub-dept., Transportation Sub-dept., and other related sides were deployed.

"Mostly illegal buildings are used as hideout for PMKS. When we conduct raids, PMKS are immediately jump over the fence and hide," he mentioned.

After controlling, his side will patrol in area routinely to keep it safe and controlled," he closed.
