ERP to Be Tested on July 15

The installation of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) gate in front of Panin Bank, Jalan Sudirman, Central Jakarta, has been done last night, Thursday (7/3). It is scheduled that the gate made by a Swedish company, Kapsch, to be used on Tuesday (7/15).

As for the gate on the east side, it will be installed today,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, M Akbar, Friday (7/4).
According to Akbar, in the ERP gate, there are three machines installed to detect On Board Unit (OBU) installed in vehicles. Those machines are VDC Passage (censor to detect type of vehicle), VR censor (camera to take plat number pictures of vehicles violating the rule), and Transceivers (data receiver from OBU).
ERP Gate Installed, Part of Jalan Sudirman ClosedLater, the vehicles which have installed OBU will have their balance cut whenever passing ERP area. As for vehicles which have not installed OBU, they will be directly detected and got their police plat numbers recorded to be ticketed afterwards.
In trial period, 50 vehicles will be installed with OBU to know whether the machines installed in ERP gates could detect the device. The trial itself will be conducted for three to six months.
