Flood, Kampung Rambutan Terminal Operational Disturbed

Heavy rain poured down on some areas in Jakarta, causing the Kampung Rambutan Terminal, East Jakarta, inundated with water level reaches adult knee. The condition has disturbed the bus departure in terminal.

"Since at 3 AM, flood keeps spreading and we could only depart 3 buses from initial plan 8 buses. This is because passengers difficult to get to the bus," said Faisal (46), one of bus operators heading to Merak, Banten, Sunday (7/27).

Many passengers, Faisal disclosed, recklessly break through flood to get to the bus. "We also help elderly to get to the bus," he told.

Heavy Rain, Kampung Pulo Inundated

Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Dwi Basuki expressed since yesterday afternoon, rain intensity is extreme enough and causing Cipinang Timur River behind terminal overflowed. Its water level reached adult knee.

"Flooding happened at 2 AM, and its water level has reached adult knee at 4 AM. Thus, passengers had to roll up their pants," he expressed.

He furthered that bus operational is fine. Yet the passenger candidates had difficulties to get to the bus due to terminal condition is muddy.

"At 6 AM, flooding has receded gradually. If the rain was stop, flood would recede in afternoon," he stated.
