Approaching Rainy Season, Waterways in C. Jakarta will Be Checked

Central Jakarta Mayor, Bayu Meghantara revealed that every urban village to check the condition of the waterways on the sidewalk before the rainy season.

"Please check waterway to anticipate inundation. Moreover there is sidewalk repair at the location so you can do it," he expressed, Monday (9/24).

According to him, in some points, inundation is still spotted due to overflowing water of the waterway. Therefore, locals were asked to report if they find damage to the waterway.

"There are two inundation-prone areas, namely Pasar Baru and Bungur Raya areas. Yet there is still repair to solve it," he told.

To anticipate inundation in both areas, Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. is normalizing the waterway in Kartini, Sawah Besar. After it is done, water will be flowed to a river in Gunung Sahari.

"At the intersection of Jalan Bungur Raya, ponds are being made to accommodate the flow of water," he said.
