The Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud) is about to hold Jakarta International Performing Arts (JakIPA) at Plaza Monas Timur, Gambir, Central Jakarta on November 16-17, 2019.
This is the first event that shows art and cultural performance
JakIPA is expected to entertain Jakartans and to appreciate traditional and contemporary cultural art performers.
Jakarta Disparbud Acting Head (Plt), Alberto Ali explained, JakIPA is an art performance that takes mainstream elements of theater, dance, music, film, opera, magic, spoken word, circus, and recitation.

Those cities are Berlin (Germany), Budapest (Hungary), Beijing (China), and Moscow (Russia).
"This is the first event that shows art and cultural performance. To support it, we have local performers such as Betawi artists," he explained.
Jakarta as one of the main tourist destinations in Indonesia, he continued, should have a world-class art and cultural performance as an appreciation to the artists. Thus JakIPA is held as the alternative entertainment for Jakartans as well as giving a space for artists to express themselves in art performance.
"It is not only cultural art performance, but also cultural exchange moment, which is in line with Jakarta Provincial Government's vision that doesn't forget about its cultures and arts," he asserted.
Moreover, it will emphasize Jakarta's existence as metropolitan city that connects all cultures in Indonesia.
"We hope it can create a mutual cultural understanding and becomes a routine event and the icon of Jakarta's Pop Culture in order to make Jakarta to be known globally," he expressed.
For information, local performers who will perform in the event are D’Jakfaro Entertainment, Sanggar Budaya Katulistiwa, Sanggar Margasari, Sanggar Sinar Betawi, Maria Calista & Trias Floe Band, Calvin Jeremy & Trias Floe Band, Dazzling Modern Dance Group, Barongsai Kong Ha Hong, TRIsakti Bartending Group, and others.
There are also foreign performers such as, State School of Artistic Berlin, Erika Kertesz (Budapest), and Moscow Dance Ensemble Junost.
