Dry Season, Parks in East Jakarta Starts to Wither

Long dry season caused some of park in East Jakarta damaged. Grass and tree are dry and die due to lack of water supply. The minimum of water truck is worsen the condition.

The weather is dry now, our coverage is also wide. We only have 11 water trucks with each capacity 4,000 liter

The damaged parks can be seen on Jalan Raya Matraman, Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, in front of PGC, and Pasar Rebo intersection.

Head of East Jakarta Park Sub-department, Suzi Marzitawati, admitted the lack of sprinkle also worsen the condition.

"The weather is dry now, our coverage is also wide. We only have 11 water trucks with each capacity 4,000 liter," Suzi said, Friday (10/10).

Suzi added that her side has made 10 pantek well which is sucked by using Alkon machine. Each well has 15-20 meter of depth. Unluckily, there are only two wells have water, while the remaining eight are empty.

Those two wells are located in west side of Viaduk Park jatinegara, while the other eight wells are in east side of Viaduk Park Jatinegara, Barkah Park Jatinegara, Kejaksaan Park, Cornelis Simanjuntak Park, Klender under flyover, and green line on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai.

"We'll add the well in other parks in East Jakarta. We also coordinate with East Jakarta Sub-dept. of Industry and Energy to use infiltration well," Suzi added.

The range of East Jakarta park and green line is 592 ha. It consists environment park by 362 ha, interactive park 92 ha, and green line 138 ha.

Sprinkle procurement is about to add in 2015 budget, also adding the water truck by 8 units with each capacity is 6,000 liter.
