Creative, SMKN 27 Student Makes Stylish Personal Protective Jackets

The COVID-19 pandemic doesn't dampen Exel Joseph's enthusiasm to be creative. He is a grade XI student of SMKN 27, Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, who majored in fashion. With assistance from his mother, he is able to produce COVID-19 personal protective jacket with a more fashionable style.

"Its model is almost the same as the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by health workers. The difference is, the jacket that I make is more fashionable and can be worn outside home," he told Beritajakarta.id, Tuesday (7/21).
With skills that he obtained from school, he used his spare time at home by trying to make a personal protective jacket using ripstop material.

This self-made personal protective jacket was made in pairs with the pants in three models. First model is called Livi with price Rp 280,000/pair, then Jona Rp 280,000/pair, and Noi Rp 350,000/pair.
According to him, 10 pairs of personal protective jacket have been sold out within a week. Money that he earned from selling jacket was saved for his daily needs.
"As a student majoring in fashion, I feel called to raise the good name of my school by making a jacket from my own creation," he stated.
