Visiting COVID-19 Monument, Anies Reminds People to Be Discipline in Complying with Health Protocols

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan together with Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) monitored COVID-19 Monument at RW 14, Sunter Jaya Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/1) afternoon. This monument was installed with assistance from the local residents.

This monument was built in form of coffin equipped with information board containing warning sentences, appeals, and data on the accumulation of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta within the past three days. Health worker's mannequin also displayed on the west side of Sunter Lake.

In this chance, his side also explained Jakarta Government's plans to curb the spread of COVID-19 on a smaller scale. It means, his side will tighten the rules in office, residential area, and community where positive cases are found.
"In the future, we will ensure that people who are positive should be isolated not only in their houses, but the isolation facilities prepared by government thus we can ensure to stop the transmission. Currently we are working on the regulations," he mentioned.
Meanwhile, North Jakarta Mayor, Sigit Wijatmoko explained, residents participated in building the monument because some of them started their activities again, including in Sunter Lake. Therefore a thing is needed that can raise their awareness about the dangers of COVID-19 and for people who don't comply with health protocols while carrying their activities.
"We often discuss how to manage public area, for example at Sunter Lake RW 14 of Sunter Jaya area. How can we encourage people to adhere to health protocols. Then people suggested to build monument that can be a reminder for us to take care of each other. So, this monument is one of our innovation. We hope by installing this monument, people can be more aware and vigilant," he explained.
