KPKP Agency Appreciates Two Residents who Flourishes Urban Farming in Building's Roof Top

Hard work and good intentions, Angga Diandry and Hairul Muntako used the house and musala (prayer room)'s top roof for developing urban farming with a hydroponic system, received appreciation from the Jakarta Maritime, Agricultural and Food Security (KPKP) Agency, on Thursday (1/6).

Urban Farming Sub-Coordinator Head, Taufik Yulianto and his staff, visited Diandry's house who grows various vegetables such as kale, melon, cucumber, pakcoy, kailan, lettuce with a hydroponic system on the roof of his house on Jalan Regency Tebet Mas III, Tebet.
They also visited Hairul Muntako's house, Jalan Cipulir VI, RT 05/04, Cipulir Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama who is developing urban farming by growing melons, kale, tomatoes, chilies, and fish hydroponically on the land above the musala.

He hoped that efforts made by these two residents could motivate other people, especially young people, to cultivate crops by using the land around their homes and environment, according to the agency's take line 'Bertani Itu Sehat dan Keren' (Farming is Healthy and Cool).
"For us, the efforts made by Diandry and Muntako are cool so they deserve to be appreciated," he asserted.
Diandry admitted he started growing vegetables using a hydroponic system on the third floor of his house in August 2020 with 100 planting holes.
"At first it was just a hobby, but it turned out to be satisfying. I'm more enthusiastic and serious about developing urban farming," he added.
According to him, every week, he could harvest eight kg of pakcoi, four kg of lettuce and three to four kg of kailan.
"I harvest every Saturday and sell directly to consumers via Instagram and WhatsApp," he stated.
