A Tree Fell in Kebon Jeruk After Heavy Rain

A kedondong laut tree (Ming Aralia) located on Jalan Kedoya Raya or precisely under Kebon Jeruk Flyover, fell after heavy rain poured West Jakarta since Saturday (12/27) morning. There was no casualty in the incident. But the traffic congestion could not be avoided due to the fallen tree almost paralyzing Jalan Kedoya Raya. 

After getting the information, we immediately sent personnel to do evacuation

Head of West Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Arifin Djauhari disclosed 6 personnel immediately sent to evacuate the fallen tree. The tree has a height of 10 meters with 30 centimeters diameter.

He stated, such tree fell because there is a drainage construction until cutting tree roots. Thus it cannot longer able to hold the tree. "After getting the information, we immediately sent personnel to do evacuation," he told, Saturday (12/27).

So far, personnel are still evacuating the tree. "We do this to smoothen traffic flow," he uttered.
