East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar instructed the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency to speed up repairs to the 47-meter-long and 12-meter-high landslide cliff on Jalan Karya Bakti 7, RW 04, Makassar Urban Village, Makassar.
"I instructed the SDA Sub-agency to coordinate with the vendor, thus the landslide cliff work is carried out 24 hours a day," he asserted, when he inspected the location, Friday (11/18).

"I hope all the work will be completed before January," he hoped.
East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Division Head, Puryanto explained that the repair work on the landslide cliff was hampered by the very heavy and steep terrain and the weather which often rained. Thus, workers have to be extra careful when working on repairs to the cliff.
During this repair work, the vendor replaced the heavy equipment twice because the existing heavy equipment could not reach the bottom of the river.
"Now, we can only carry out outreach at the bottom of the Cipinang River," he uttered.
However, he is optimistic that the vendor can complete the work by the end of December.
