Anticipating Inundation, Channels in Cipayung Directed to Reservoirs

This is one of our strategies to anticipate flooding or inundation

One of the efforts to deal with inundation in residents' settlements, Cipayung Sub-district, East Jakarta, starting this year will be channeling all channels to the nearest reservoir.

According to Panangaran Ritonga, Head of Cipayung Sub-district, it has already been implemented in several locations and it will continue to be done in stages. By doing so, the reservoir was expected to be more optimal in flood prevention.

"All channels will be channeled to reservoirs in Cipayung. Besides those in settlement areas but those on the roadside can also be directed to the reservoir," he expressed, Friday (1/13).

Thus far, the work on the channels on Jalan Raya Munjul is directed towards Munjul Reservoir. Then channels on Jalan SDN Lama, Pondok Ranggon Urban Village will be directed to Pondok Ranggon Reservoir, Cilangkap Connecting Channel will be directed to Giri Kencana Cilangkap Reservoir through the sluice gate at the inlet.

"This is one of our strategies to anticipate flooding or inundation," he asserted.
