Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, led the chili harvest in the Buperta Peasant Farmers Group (KPPB) urban farming area, Jalan Pinggir, Munjul Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (12/20). As a result, as many as 1,450 chili trees were harvested in this activity.

He had time to greet and dialogue with the governors and mayors who were present at the joint hybrid harvest.

"Thank you to TPID (Regional Inflation Control Team) and food security and all levels who have helped the Jakarta Government in making it easier to stabilize prices," he expressed.
He urged his staff in all administrative regions to continuously work together in maintaining food price stability. In this way, Jakarta residents will be guaranteed the availability of food ahead of Christmas and New Year.
"We will harvest and hopefully food security will continue to be stable and sustainable," he stated.
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati explained today's activity was a follow-up to the results of the Acting Governor's meeting with the Acting Governors of West Java, Banten, and Central Java.
During its development, she explained, the DI Yogyakarta and South Sulawesi Province participated in supporting price control and meeting food needs in Jakarta.
"As a form of regional leadership's commitment to stock food needs ahead of Christmas and New Year, today after harvest everyone went straight to the market to review stocks and prices. The last thing is to do cheap food simultaneously," she added.
East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar added the simultaneous harvest in his area reached 2,106.7 tons with a total land area of 8,148 square meters spread over 81 locations in 10 sub-districts.
Besides chilies, 163.5 kilograms of eggplant, kale, pakcoy, and others were also harvested from a total area of 544 square meters in nine locations. Then 3,378 kilograms of fish were harvested from a total area of 1,055 square meters in four locations.
According to him, all the harvest was sold to the community and TP PKK cadres who needed it for household needs at low prices.
"The Acting Governor has directed that empty land be used for food security," he said.
