Fire in Amaris Hotel Succesfully Extinguished

A fire gutted an Amaris Hotel located at Jalan Doktor Soepomo No.33, Tebet, South Jakarta, Monday (6/1) morning, around 8 AM. 

The flames came out at 8 AM. I heard a guest yelling fire from 6th floor. The alarm then rang, and he/she instantly rushed out of the hotel

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the black smoke billowed from one of hotel rooms' windows on the 6th floor. Due to the incident, the hotel guests panicked and scrambled out to save their life.

"The flames came out at 8 AM. I heard a guest yelling fire from 6th floor. The alarm then rang, and he/she instantly rushed out of the hotel," said Adi (29), one of hotel staffs. 

Head of Operation Section for South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Edy Sucipto stated his sub-department got a fire report about 8.18 AM. "We send 14 fire trucks to the scene," he told. 

After struggling within 45 minutes, the firemen managed to put out the flames in the room 611. "We managed to control the situation within 45 minutes later," he said.

There was no casualty found in such incident. "The cause of fire is still being investigated by the police so far," he finished.
