PMKS Number in North Jakarta Declining

The netted PMKS throughout this year decreased to 205 people compared to last year

A vigorous raid that keeps being conducted by North Jakarta Administration is quite effective to minimize the number of People with Social Welfare Problem (PMKS) in North Jakarta. Evidently, since January-June 2015, the officers have netted 411 PMKS or decreased 33.5 percent, compared to the same period last year, which was 616 people.

"The netted PMKS throughout this year decreased to 205 people compared to last year," said Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Uccu Rahayu, Monday (7/6).

Ahok Ensured PMKS Taken Care Well at Social Institution

Rahayu stated, the numbers decreased is due to incessant raids from officers in some PMKS-prone points. "Since January, we are indeed routinely conducting the raid. Besides that, we also sent our personnel in PMKS-prone points, including Jalan RE Martadinata and Yos Sudarso," she expressed.

To anticipate PMKS during Ramadhan until Idul Fitri 1436 Hijri, her sub-department will tighten supervision in some mosques that allegedly prone to PMKS. They are like Jakarta Islamic Centre (JIC) and Luar Batang.

"For PMKS raid in mosque area, we're coordinating with the mosque caretakers. But so far, there is still no complaint from local people," she disclosed.
