Starting December 10, about 438 street vendors selling alongside Jalan Jiung, to occupy a shelter site in Gg. Laler, Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Assistant for Central Jakarta Economic and Administration Section, Sulastri Gultom said, street vendor arrangement was slated to be conducted gradually in line with shelter site renovation at Gg. Laler. 

"From Jalan Jiung, there are 438 vendors, while other vendors in Al-Akbar Mosque area are still under data collection. They will occupy the shelter together as conflict anticipation," she expressed, Wednesday (12/2).

Sulastri expressed, in the shelter, a two-story food center would be built and can accommodate at least 500 vendors. The site will become a pilot, in which its staple food will periodically be checked from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).

"Our concept is to attract people who want to find affordable restaurant. Moreover, the location is easily accessed and its food quality will keep being monitored," she exclaimed.

But he regretted the use of the shelter site is only 3 years from the center of the Kemayoran manager center (PPKK). Whereas, the site arrangement needs a long time. "Hopefully, the time could be extended and becomes serious concern for PPKK," she stated.
