Untung Jawa Island Pier Shallowing

The east side pier of Untung Jawa Island, South Seribu Islands experiences shallowing and narrowing. All this time, the pier is used as anchor place of fishermen, transportation department and passengers boats.

The repair had been proposed on development planning forum of regency level in 2014 ago, but there is no realization yet until this time

The fishermen asked Seribu Islands Regency Government to immediately repair the anchor place located at RT 03/03.

VCT Should Be Held Routinely in Untung Jawa Island

According to him, during the west wind season like this, the pier becomes alternative for fishermen boats to avoid wave lacing and bad weather. But the shallowing troubles them to anchor the boat.

Meanwhile, Untung Jawa Urban Village Head, Badri told that the narrowing pier is because of no breakwater.

"In east wind season the wave reached the anchor and now it's already west wind season many boats anchor at the pier," he explained.
