Locals Complaining Street Light Poles in the Middle of Road

Those poles are very disturbing, especially at night. We miss a bit, the result could be fatal

Inhabitants of Pulogebang Flat, Cakung, East Jakarta, are complaining the existence street light poles on the east side of Pulogebang Outer Ring Road Toll. The reason is because the poles were installed in the middle of the road which makes road users prone to accident.

Ucok (40), one of Pulogebang Flat inhabitants, said that since the road was widened on December 2013, those street light poles are still not moved. This condition is surely endangering motorists’ safety.

Those poles are very disturbing, especially at night. We miss a bit, the result could be fatal,” he lamented, Tuesday (4/8).

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Tuti Kurnia, admitted that she has received complaints from local residents about this matter.

“Thus far, we have moved 40 street light poles. Hopefully, the rest of the poles could be moved in two weeks ahead,” she finished.
