Bintaro Utara Vendors Demolished Their Stall By Themselves

Tens of street vendors on Jalan Bintaro Utara, RW 11, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, demolished their stalls by themselves, Thursday (1/28). The stalls were demolished due to standing on sidewalk and connecting channel.

Pesanggrahan Sub-district Head, Agus Irwanto said the vendors who mostly sell fruit are not citizen of Jakarta, but from South Jakarta.

Prior to demolishment, he had warned them to demolish stall by themselves last year. "After being demolished, we do cleaning and tree pruning," he told, Thursday (1/28).

He did not give compensation and relocation, because the vendors opted to resume business in the hometown. To optimize demolishment, as many as 100 joint officers consist of Satpol PP, janitor and PPSU sent to the location.
