“It’s only for those who willing to open their yard for public,” he said, Tuesday (2/2).

He exemplified if someone has 5,000 meter square of land and opened for public by 1,000 meter square, then he only pays tax for 4,000 meter square only.

Basuki ensured that the land will be used as sidewalk and accommodating street vendors.

Previously, the governor had suggested office managements along Jalan Sudirman to grant their front yard for public facility. He wants to provide wide sidewalk like in Tokyo and New York.
