Basuki Asks Pertamina to Delete Premium in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama sent a letter to PT Pertamina to delete premium in Jakarta. He assessed, it would be better to be diverted to public transport. But its decision still lies in Pertamina.

"I told Pertamina to delete premium in Jakarta and divert it to public transport," he stated, at City Hall, Tuesday (2/2). 

He said that if there is still subsidized fuel, the motorcyclist will not switch to public transport. Thus traffic jam in the city cannot be solved optimally.

At this time, the central government has not revoke total of subsidized fuel type premium. There is a difference with the original price. Besides premium, another subsidized fuel is diesel.

Nevertheless, Basuki sent his opinion, but the decision still lies in Pertamina.

He is currently preparing additional Transjakarta bus and free bus. If it was realized, the passenger would only pay Rp 3,500 per ticket. The fare also applies to public transport outside Jakarta.
