Illegal Parking Raid in Marunda Flat Chaotic

The illegal parking raid held by North Jakarta Sub-dept. of Transportation at Marunda flat, Cilincing, was ended in chaotic.

Hundreds of flat occupants got angry due to their vehicle’s tire was deflated.

“This is flat area and no traffic sign of parking ban along the road. Why they deflating our tires,” said Heri (48), occupant of Blok C of Marunda Flat, Monday (2/8).

1,783 Vehicles Towed During Illegal Parking Raid

He disappointed because of no warning before the raid.

Rahman (37), another occupants, admitted that there is a ban from Jakarta Dept. of Public Housing and Governmental Building stated that vehicles are not allowed parked inside the flat.

“That’s why we parked our car on the roadside,” he admitted.

Meanwhile, Bona Siregar, North Jakarta Head Section Operational of Sub-dept. of Transportation,  explained that the raid is based on citizens’ report due to disturbed by the parking on the roadside.

According to him, there were 30 cars were deflated during the raid.

“Now the condition is back to normal,” he stated.
