Be Careful of Collapsed Road on Outer Ring Road Flyover“Two days ago the hole was small, but it keeps getting bigger. It is probably because the soil beneath it is constantly eroding,” expressed Jaka (37), one of motorcycle-taxi drivers near the location, Thursday (4/10).
This afternoon, workers from Jakarta Public Works Department are seen in location. Besides installing warning signs and guardrail, they are also cleaning road debris inside the box-culvert which is heaped up.
“We put warning signs to prevent unwanted things, and also clean up the debris along the road to smooth traffic flows. This is a temporary quick handling because we’re still investigating why the road collapsed. After we knew the cause, we’ll know what kind of steps to be taken,” stated Head of Road Maintenance Section for Jakarta Public Works Department, Bernar Gultom.
There is no casualty reported until now regarding the collapsed road. However, the traffic from Semanggi towards Senayan Roundabout is bogged down because the road is narrowed.
