The implementation of electronic road pricing (ERP) by Jakarta Provincial Government is predicted able to overcome traffic jam in the capital. Especially along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin up to Kota and Jalan HR Rasuna Said.
ERP will run on Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM
Zulkifli, Head UPT of ERP, Jakarta Dept. of Transportation, admitted that overcoming traffic jam can be done by implementing ERP. This project is based on Bylaw No. 1/2012 and Bylaw No. 5/2014 about Transportation.
“ERP will run on Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM,” he said, Tuesday (2/16).
ERP Program Enters Final StageAfter implementing ERP, motorcycle will not be able to pass the road, slow or fast lane. ERP road is made for four wheeled vehicles or more which already completed with On Board Unit or internal camera.
Later, Dept. of Transportation will prepare the camera and its mechanism.
