Janitor will Be Spread in Urban Village for Clean Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government is scheduled to send janitors in every urban village spread across six areas of Jakarta. The policy was issued because of residents' hygienic behavior is still bad.

All parts of Jakarta must be clean, in which each urban village must be have janitor. Thus there is no longer reason Jakarta is not clean

"All parts of Jakarta must be clean, in which each urban village must be have janitor. Thus there is no longer reason Jakarta is not clean," asserted Basuki T Purnama, Vice Jakarta Governor, at City Hall, Friday (4/11).

Basuki stated, cleanliness competition held regularly in some urban villages is deemed not changing the residents' awareness to maintain the cleanliness of the environment. The reason is, it only shown on cleanliness competition but not in daily life. After competition is ended, they returned to throw trash haphazardly.

3 Months Delayed, Janitors’ Salary Finally Paid

To resolve this problem, Basuki asserted, the janitor will be placed in all urban villages in Jakarta. "If all areas had janitor, Jakarta would be clean. So we don't need competition, because everything is clean," he exclaimed.

Nevertheless, Basuki urged Jakartans to contribute in maintaining the cleanliness of their neighborhood.

We've got money, got a lot of workers, and people who want to help us is also a lot. Taiwanese people for instance, where entrepreneurs want to help us, and we also want to buy, so do not want to lose to them and we should participate," he finished.
