"Vehicle eligibility will be set from KIR test. But, for me, it doesn't depend on its age," disclosed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Friday (2/19).
According to him, such policy is actually already set in Bylaw No. 5/2014 on Transportation. And it was done properly, unworthy public transport would not be rampant.

He admitted many people are renting spare part to the vehicle owner. Despite the vehicle is unworthy, it will remain pass KIR test. "This action is very rampant," he stated.
Additionally, Basuki added, if vehicle could last up 10 years, its maintenance cost would be more expensive. Thus if it is unworthy, it must be replaced with new ones.
