150 Freelancers Clean Up KBT's Riverbank

Around 150 freelancers of East Jakarta Cleanliness Dept cleans the riverbank of East Flood Canal (KBT), Saturday (2/20). The activity is also to commemorate the National Trash Care Day (HPSN).

Based on Beritajakarta.com, the freelancers are spread to pick up and sweep that littered the rest of the people activities on Friday night. They were equipped with equipment such as cangkrang, hoes, rakes, sickles and other equipment.

East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept, Budi Mulyanto disclosed, despite the trash ban is already available, people still throw trash haphazardly. 

"We do pick-up trash while conducting socialization to local residents. In the future, we will do population operation (OTT) for those who throw trash haphazardly," he stressed.

To maintain cleanliness around KBT, he admitted has coordinated with local urban village and sub-district sides. "Street vendor near the place must also maintain cleanliness," he closed.
