Basuki: You Move to the Flat, I Will Cover You

Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama disclosed that the city administration does not only control citizen homes in Kalijodo, also provides the flat to them.

We do this because we care. If you move to the flat, I will cover you. I will give school scholarship for children, free transportation, and capital for business

"We do not force them to move, but we provide the flat to them," he said, at City Hall, Wednesday (2/24)

If they still stay in Kalijodo, it will influence on children's development. Considering the red-light area is rampant in that place. "Did you want to see your children like that?," he exclaimed.

Various facilities are also provided in the flat. Among of them are Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), free transportation, and Jakarta Health Card (KJS). Even some occupants feel helped by these facilities.

"We do this because we care. If you move to the flat, I will cover you. I will give school scholarship for children, free transportation, and capital for business," he stressed.

Basuki added, he will not allow the violation occurred in Jakarta. Considering the citizens also occupy green belts.

"Our country has the rule of law. It's green, it's green open space. That's why we have to clean up all in violation. We need 33 percent of green belt," he uttered.
