City to Install 160 Parking Meters Machines

Around 160 parking meter machines will be installed in several streets in the capital. Its installation will spend Rp 20 billion from 2016 City Budget (APBD).

"We have spent Rp 20 billion. We hope the Government Procurement Regulatory Agency (LKPP) can realize parking meter installation two months ahead. If one unit price is Rp 125 million, we will purchase 160 machines," said Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept, Andri Yansyah, Wednesday (2/24).

Parking Meter Becomes Pilot of Jakarta One Card

The machine could be installed at 12-13 points. Its location is still under discussion stage.

He disclosed, such installation will boost the parking fees. As in two locations that are already installed parking meter, such as Sabang, this street can absorb income up to Rp 10-Rp 15 million per day from the previous Rp 500 thousand. While in Kelapa Gading, can absorb income up to Rp 50 million per day from the previous Rp 5 million.

Nevertheless, he admitted, could not pay double salary of officer in accordance with UMP. This is due to the application of the new parking meter machines only exist in three locations.

‎"If the machine was installed up to 50 percent of 378 streets, the double salary will be applied," he finished.
