8 Tons of Garbage Picked Up from Manggarai

Facing rainy season that hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas lately, Manggarai Sluice Gate operator is assigned to transport garbage at sluice using heavy equipment belongs to Jakarta Cleanliness Dept. Every day, garbage in the sluice can touch eight tons.

Garbage is mostly dominated by banana stem, wooden log, box, styrofoam, plastic, big tree, and refrigerator

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com, there are at least three dump trucks, 2 excavators deployed to optimize garbage transporting.

"Garbage is mostly dominated by banana stem, wooden log, box, styrofoam, plastic, big tree, and refrigerator," said Operator of Manggarai Sluice Gate, Julianto Wibowo, Tuesday (2/29).

Garbage Under Kalibata Flyover Cleaned

He stated, last year, Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama had instructed sluice operator to standby transporting garbage heaps at sluice gate.

"In future, I don't want to see garbage heaps here anymore. And until now, we are always standby to anticipate the coming of garbage," he closed.
