Seaweed Cultivation in Seribu Islands Intensified

Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept once again conducts the development of seaweed cultivation. This year, from some farmer groups, they have harvested three tons of seaweed.

In future, similar action will be conducted by involving Jepara Brackish Water and Sea Great Hall

"From the harvest result, 1.8 tons have been planted again. For second phase on February 26, we planted 1 ton of seaweed and is predicted to be re-harvested in the upcoming April," said Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept, Sutrisno, Tuesday (3/1).

According to him, type of seaweed is eucema cottoni. He plans to intensively develop its cultivation by cooperating with Pari Indah and Pari Lestari as the initiator of replanting seaweed in Pari Island after a long vacuum.

"In future, similar action will be conducted by involving Jepara Brackish Water and Sea Great Hall," he finished.
