Entangled in Robbery Case, Yu Take UN in Police Headquarter

Maybe Yu, a vocational school (SMK) student in Cijantung, East Jakarta, would never imagine that he would take National Exam (UN) as an inmate. But due to he is entangled in a criminal case, this 17-year-old had to take the exam in Cipayung Sector Police Headquarter, East Jakarta.

Yu will take UN for three days until upcoming Wednesday (4/16)

Wearing prisoner uniform written ‘Cipayung Sector Police Inmate’, Yu is doing the exam on the second floor of the police station. During the exam, he is guarded by two police officers, one supervisor from Jakarta Education Department, and a teacher. On the door of the room, there is a sign written ‘Quiet Please, National Exam Undergoing’. While outside the room, three police officers in civilian clothes are guarding.

Sick Does Not Deter Rahardian to Miss National Exam

Yu was arrested and imprisoned for robbery and extortion case. He is charged under Article 365 of Criminal Code on theft with violence in conjunction with Article 368 of Criminal Code of extortion. Of the above mentioned article entrapment, Yu could be punished of seven years in prison. Previously, he had been arrested two times for stealing motorcycle, cell phone, and money in the amount of Rp 200 thousand.

Cipayung Sector Police Chief Comr. UA Triyono explained that Yu was arrested on April 7. Since then, his family asked for Yu to be allowed taking UN and also to bring him textbooks so he can study in his cell.

Yu will take UN for three days until upcoming Wednesday (4/16),” stated Triyono.
