Pilkada Stage Will Begin at the End of April

Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD) is scheduled to start stage of regional election (pilkada) at the end of April. The first stage is the preparation of the regulation, drafting system voters list (DPT), and the appointment of an ad-hoc committee.

"Pilkada stage will begin at the end of April," said Sumarno, Chairman of Jakarta KPUD, Wednesday (3/9).

He added such stage would begin in the upcoming August and initiated with support hand over to independent candidate.

The support that should be submitted is in the form of a declaration and accompanied by a copy of ID card from supporter. It is submitted early, because the KPU must verify beforehand.

"The candidate should submit the support list first and continued with registration in coincides with political party, which falls in October," he said.
