Demonstration that conducted by Ekspres taxi in front of City Hall, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/14) morning, causing traffic congestion from Tugu Tani towards Horse Statue.

We have not done traffic diversion or closure

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, tens officers from Jakarta Transportation Dept and police immediately go to the field to secure the demonstration. As for the four lanes at Jalan Merdeka Selatan, there are only two lanes that can be passed toward Horse Statue. While the rest are still occupied by the demonstrator.

"We have not done traffic diversion or closure," said member of City Police Traffic Unit, Aiptu Sunarko, Monday (3/14).

He urges the motorist to avoid Jalan Merdeka Selatan and find alternative way to prevent such congestion.

"Considering there is demonstration on Jalan Merdeka Selatan," he stated.
