This Week, Potholes in North Jakarta Repaired

As many as 20 potholes are still rampant in North Jakarta or precisely in six sub-districts after heavy rain hit the capital city a while ago. Those are located on Jalan Sungai Tiram, Cilincing, Jalan Pegangsaan Dua, Jalan Kelapa Hibrida Raya, and Jalan Boulevard Utara, Kelapa Gading.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the worst potholes are detected on Jalan Pegangsaan Dua. There are potholes with a diameter of 2 x 1 meters, with 15 centimeters deep. The pothole can easily be found near the gates of Taman Pegangsaan Indah Housing Complex and Arcadia Housing Complex, RW 19, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village. Surely, this condition is very dangerous, especially for motorcyclist.

Roni Guspar (23), a citizen of RW 19, Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading, said there has been no repair since January. Even, the hole keeps widening.

"Due to the hole is covered by soil, the road becomes slippery. Many motorcyclist fell and injured every week," he expressed, Tuesday (4/15).

Earlier, he continued, local citizens always cover the hole with cement, but broken again.

According to Sugoro Sinaga, Head of Road and Bridge Maintenance for North Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, his sub-department will immediately repair the potholes this week.
