Jakarta Contract Worker Registered in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan

The city administration and Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) have teamed up to provide BPJS for contract worker in Jakarta.

I hope this agreement with the city administration can be an example, thus can be applied in other provinces

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Director, Agus Susanto said contract worker will be registered in the program of wage non-recipient worker (BPU). This collaboration is the first time in Indonesia. This policy would be an example for other provinces.

"I hope this agreement with the city administration can be an example, thus can be applied in other provinces," he stated, at City Hall, Wednesday (3/16).

Jakarta PPSU Already Registered in BPJS

They will recruit 250 workers under 300 regional working units (SKPD) this month on two programs. They are work safety and death security.

"In 2017, they will also be participated on old-age insurance. This is a must for citizens," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama stated BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is covered by City Budget (APBD) thus there is no salary cuts. "We cover it just like BPJS Kesehatan," he stated.

Previously, the city government had established a partnership with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan through Governor Instruction number 288/2015 on workers protection with One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (BPTSP). Even, there have been 18 thousand workers from PPSU registered and 13,526 other workers, non-civil servant of Cleanliness Department.
