140 School Buses Alerted in 11 Terminals

As many as 140 school buses with 280 crews are alerted to pick up stranded passengers in 11 terminals due to strike action today, Tuesday (3/22).

Mohammad Insaf, Head of School Transport Management Unit (Upas), Jakarta Transportation Dept, said the school bus is prepared to serve stranded passengers due to strike action from public transport crew. There will be 140 school buses spread in each terminal.

Amari and Employee Bus Deployed

"We direct school bus to standby in 11 terminals at 7 AM. They cannot pick up passenger before public transport does demonstration," he expressed.

Their main task, he furthered, is to pick up and drop off students to the school in accordance with route that has been set every day. After the task is done, they will be seconded to serve stranded passenger. 

"At noon, they will return serve students as usual," he closed.
