Taxi Demonstration Resulted in a Loss of Billions Rupiah

Yesterday's demonstration that involved taxi, public minivan and bajaj drivers has resulted in a loss of tens of billions rupiah. Besides that, strike action also influenced some activities of economy sector.

"Demonstration yesterday has resulted in a loss of tens of billions rupiah," said Deputy Head of Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dept, Sarman Simanjorang, Tuesday (3/22).

Although school bus has been alerted to serve the stranded passengers, he noted, there are four activities disturbed. They are logistic distribution, transportation, people distribution and work.

He went on the say that online ojek shutting down was considered inappropriate, because technology development cannot be denied. Moreover, at this time, all the activities already based technology.

"The right way is by making a regulation related with this development thus this does not harm many," he finished.
