Poultry Cages Secured from Utan Kayu Selatan

Tens of poultry cage were seized during a raid held in Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village, Matraman, East Jakarta. The effort is aimed to prevent bird flu spread.

Based on Beritajakarta.com’s observation, personnel combed settlement in RW 01, 05, 06, 12, and 13. Those cages then transported by using truck.

Sujono, Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village Head, admitted more than 20 cages were secured. The number could be bigger since the raid is still running.

15 Poultry Cages Controlled

“We have five locations with many poultries such as chicken and pigeon. Raid would be held routinely in Friday together with PSN,” he said.

Bambang Musyawardana, East Jakarta Mayor, explained the raid is aimed to prevent bird flu spread. Now the raid is still focused in Matraman Sub-district. Other areas have been targeted.

“Even though bird flu cases founded, but early prevention must be done,” he stated.
