N. Jakarta Administration Distributes 60,000 Fish Seeds

The North Jakarta Livestock, Fishery, and Marine Sub-Department distributes 60,000 fish seeds to Navy Military Police Centre (Pomal), Kelapa Gading Barat, North Jakarta, in a bid to cultivate fish as an additional community nutrition. Those seeds consist of 30,000 catfish seeds and 30,000 tilapia fish seeds.

"We give fish seeds to people who have the pisciculture facilities," stated  Sri Hayati, Head of North Jakarta Livestock, Fishery, and Marine Sub-Department, Thursday (4/17).

Hayati added that the existence of fish farms is very useful for the people. This is because, they can enjoy the results to improve nutrition and additional income. "By consuming fish, the people nutrition will be met well," she told.

Fish Supply in Muara Angke Declining Drastically

According to her, Jakarta Provincial Government also has a fish breeding place at Ciganjur Pusdakan Breeding Center for South and Central Jakarta, Pusdakan Ujung Menteng for North and East Jakarta, and Pusdakan Kalideres for West Jakarta. "Then for North Jakarta, its center is located at Pusdakan Ujung Menteng due to its location is closer," she added.
