City Ready to Receive Grant of 30 Buses

After having gone through long and complicated process, Jakarta Provincial Government finally received recommendation from Development and Finance Surveillance Agency (BPKP) about the grant of 30 new buses from three companies.

The recommendation has been issued since two weeks ago. It says that those 30 buses are accepted as regional acceptance, while the commercial tax is listed in regional expenditure

“The recommendation has been issued since two weeks ago. It says that those 30 buses are accepted as regional acceptance, while the commercial tax is listed in regional expenditure. We have summoned those three companies and told that their grants are accepted. They asked three weeks of time to install their ads on the granted buses. That means, their time is a week left until we received the buses,” stated Acting City Secretary, Wiriyatmoko, Friday (4/18).

In line with ad installation on the bus, Jakarta Tax Service Department calculates the amount of ad installed. Later, Jakarta Provincial Government will cover the cost which listed in regional expenditure. Calculation is conducted to prevent ad cost higher than the price of the bus granted.

Grant Process for 30 Buses Complicated, Basuki Growled

“We’re calculating the value of the ad on the bus. There is a mechanism of acceptance and expenditure. The acceptance must be higher than the expenditure. Don’t let the ad payment higher than the price of the bus. This is business,” he asserted.

After everything is finished, Wiriyatmoko continued, Jakarta Provincial Government would receive those 30 new buses in one week. Afterwards, the buses will be given to TransJakarta, which now a city-owned enterprise (BUMD), to increase its passengers’ capacity. He also stressed that no one was slowing down this bus grant. However, to avoid violation, his party asked for recommendation first, which hampered the buses’ acceptance process.

“No one was slowing down. But, everything has rules because this is governance,” he uttered Wiriyatmoko, who is also an Assistant to Development Sector.
