KPU Holds Re-Voting in Unjung Menteng

Allegedly cheating had happened in polling station (TPS) 14, RW 02, Ujung Menteng Urban Village, Cakung Sub-District, East Jakarta, Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) finally holds re-voting there, Saturday (4/19). Because of that, since morning the residents had to come back to the polling station to give their vote.

From our investigation, there was an effort to raise the vote of one of Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) candidates

Head of East Jakarta Election Monitoring Board (Panwaslu), Iflaha Zufriyaten, said the cheating was discovered after the vote counting on April 9 revealed that from 348 existing permanent voters list (DPT), there were 78 of exceed votes. Such a thing happened although the vote counting was conducted until five times.

From our investigation, there was an effort to raise the vote of one of Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) candidates. In fact, from 348 DPTs, the votes are 100 percent for DPRD, while for House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) none. This is strange. The amount of votes for DPR and DPD should have been different,” he stated, Saturday (4/19).

Moreover, East Jakarta Panwaslu also discovered the fact that there was no invitation letters or C6 forms inside the ballot box. Thus, they were having difficulties in counting the amount of residents who have given their votes on April 9.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta KPU, Nurdin, confirmed about this re-voting. “When asked to KPPS officials, they did not know about the C6 forms. That is strange. That’s why Panwaslu investigated this matter. We clearly have been fooled about this case,” he uttered.

Sutrisna (45), one of the residents who conducted re-voting, admitted that he has arrived in the polling station since 7 AM. However, he did not know the reason of the re-voting. He and other residents only had heard a rumor saying that cheating happened during the voting on April 9. “No problem if we had to come to the polling station again, as long as this election runs fair, honest, and no cheating,” he expressed.
