Moderate Rain Predicted to Hit City

Jakarta and its surrounding areas will potentially rain with light to moderate intensity today, Friday (4/1). Residents are appealed to be careful in conducting its activities.

While south equatorial, the wind blows from the northwest to southeast with wind speeds ranging between 4-20 knot

Bambang Surya Putra, Head of Handling and Informatic Division, Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) disclosed that today's rainfall is triggered by wind gusts on the north equatorial which is generally blowing from the east to northeast.

"While south equatorial, the wind blows from the northwest to southeast with wind speeds ranging between 4-20 knots," he told, Friday (4/1).

Rain to Pour All Day Long

This is compounded by the wind in Central Java to East Java, which causes rain cloud around such areas until western Java area.

"Hence, we predict rain will hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas with light to moderate intensity. And at night, it will be cloudy," he stated.

As for the tidal wave high in Jakarta is maximally 0.8 meters. And in Greater Jakarta, rain with moderate intensity will happen at noon until night.
