H5N1 Virus Found in Kamal Muara

As many as 23 poultry in RT 09/04, Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta were suddenly dead. After being checked, those poultry are infected by bird flu.

Hasan (47), a local resident, admitted that 23 chickens were found dead without clear reason.

“Yesterday, their condition were good. But they suddenly died today,” he said, Tuesday (4/5).

Poultry in Utan Panjang Burned

Seeing this case, he reported to RT caretaker and then delivered to urban village apparatus. Based on report from urban village, North Jakarta Sub-dept. of Maritime, Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) went on location for checking.

“After being checked, those chickens are infected by bird flu,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kamal Muara Urban Village Head, Dwi Panji Forkiantoro, stated those 23 chickens were directly buried and the cages were burned.

“We directly burn 10 cages around the location,” he stated.
