Road congestion during 3 in 1 elimination trial on protocol roads is predicted to increase about 20 percent. It is caused by movement of vehicle from alternative to protocol road. This phenomena would not last long.

Andri Yansyah, Jakarta Head Dept. of Transportation, admitted vehicle volume is increasing based on evaluation together with city police.

“Protocol roads with 3 in 1 system are always congested. Now the congestion is getting worse since alternative road users move to protocol roads,” he said, Wednesday (4/6).

According to him, this phenomena will not last longer since protocol road users will go back using alternative roads.

“Evaluation is still running up to 7 days ahead,” he added.
