Fire in Pluit, One House and Two Cars Burned

No one was injured after fire destroyed a three-story house at Jalan Pluit Sakti Dua, No.8, RT 07/07, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, Monday (4/21). Besides burning house, flames also gutted two cars, Mercedes Benz B 1488 VB and BMW B 1688 MZ.

"I've tried to put out the flames, but fire keeps growing up

The flames that originated from Jap Tjio Jie (72)'s house broke out at around 6 PM. At that time, Jie saw smoke came out from the garage and followed by fire. He had tried to put out the flames, but he failed.

"I've tried to put out the flames, but fire keeps growing up," he expressed, Monday (4/21).

Fire Destroys Three-Story Boarding House in Palmerah

According to Muchtar Zakaria, Head of Operational Section for North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, firemen can control the fire within one hour by deploying 16 fire trucks to the scene.

"We managed to control the flames around 7.15 PM. No casualty found here," he asserted.

Based on the information gathered, the fire is triggered by electricity short-circuit on the second floor of the house. "Indeed, fire burns a generator. But from the information, fire happened due to electricity short-circuit on the second floor," he ensured.
