Many Damaged Roads in East Jakarta Need Repair

Damaged roads are still seen in East Jakarta, from potholes on TransJakarta bus lanes until wavy roads. Unfortunately, there is still no repair done by related unit until now.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, damaged roads are found on Jalan Raya Pondok Gede, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jalan Bekasi Timur, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Jalan Jatinegara Timur, Jalan Raya Bogor, particularly in Kramatjati area, Ciracas until Pasar Rebo, Jalan Otista Raya and Matraman, as well as along TransJakarta bus lanes in corridor V and VII, especially at the junction of Jalan Slamet Riyadi-Jalan Matraman Raya.
In Kramatjati, damaged road with gaping holes exist in front of gas station (SPBU) until Hek junction as well as in front of Kramatjati Sub-District office. The condition is worsened by lack of street lights which has caused many motorists fell.
Samin (47), a motorcycle-taxi driver based in Kramatjati, said the road has been damaged for more than a month and related unit has not repaired it yet.
“We hope related unit could repair the damaged road soon. If it was neglected, it is extremely jeopardizing road users, especially motorists. Moreover, right where the road is damaged, there are no street lights,” he expressed, Monday (4/21).
Responding this matter, Head of Kramatjati Sub-District, Dian Purfanto, stated that damaged road in front of his office was actually had been repaired. Due to rainwater, it damaged again. Hence, his party plans to repair the road without asking first to East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department.
“The potholes had been patched by Road Public Works Taskforce in Sub-District. But because of rainfall, the road damaged again. It will be repaired this Thursday (4/24),” he told.
When beritajakarta.com contacted Head of East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Budi Apul Sinaga, for confirmation, his cell phone was inactive.
