Fire in Tanah Abang Kills Disabled Child

A two-story house was caught by fire at Jalan Administrasi Dalam I, RT 04/07, Bendungan Hilir, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta today, Tuesday (4/12). Ironically, a disabled child, Rian (16) died in the incident.

Angga, (22), one of local residents disclosed, fire broke out around 9.15 AM. The flames suddenly grew up and burned the house.

"I don't know where the fire came, suddenly it grows up. The incident killed a child inside the house," he stated, when being interviewed at the scene, Tuesday (4/12).

Fire Hits House in Bidara Cina

Based on Beritajakarta.com, such house is located inside a narrow alley thus the firefighter has difficulties to enter and put out the flames. Moreover, locals panicked and tried to evacuate their valuables. 

As many as 16 fire trucks of Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept sent to the scene, and managed to control situation around 30 minutes.

The firefighter found a child body on the second floor. They then immediately brought the body to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

The scene has been installed with a police line. And the cause is still under investigation by Tanah Abang Sector Police.
